Russian athletes participating in the Tokyo Olympics Taekwondo arrived in Anamizu Town, Ishikawa Prefecture, where they will hold a preliminary training camp early in the morning of the 12th.

The Russian team has been excluded from the Tokyo Olympics and Paralympics due to systematic doping issues, but Anamizu Town will accept pre-camps for athletes who will participate in Taekwondo with individual qualifications.

Around 5:30 am on the 12th, four Russian athletes and 13 directors and staff who will participate in the Tokyo Olympics arrived at accommodations in the town by bus.

After being greeted by the town staff at the entrance, the athletes were undergoing a PCR test for the new coronavirus in the conference room of the facility.

During the pre-camp, the accommodation will be reserved, a practice area with mats will be set up in the hall, and athletes will not go out except to the nearby athletics stadium to prevent infection.

The athletes will be divided into two groups according to the competition schedule and will continue to make adjustments in Anamizu Town until the 21st and 24th of this month, respectively.

Coach Bazim Ivanov said, "I'm very sorry that I can hardly interact with the locals. All the players are aiming for medals, so I would like to adjust well and go to the tournament."
