Sheikha Latifa bint Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Supreme President of the Zabeel Ladies Club, announced the granting of female athletes to the first teams of Dubai clubs, in various individual and team sports, with a new and special membership, under the name "Membership of Zabeel Ladies Club and Dubai Sports Council - Female Players category". Female athletes can benefit from the club’s capabilities and sports facilities and enjoy the sports and community benefits that the club provides to its members.

The Dubai Sports Council said in a statement yesterday: "The new initiative of Zabeel Club includes providing exclusive and integrated services to qualify female players in various types of sports, in cooperation with the Dubai Sports Council, which confirms the keenness of the two institutions to contribute to the formation of a qualitative elite of qualified female players to compete at the highest levels." .

He added: "This came during the visit of Sheikha Latifa bint Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Supreme President of the Zabeel Ladies Club to the headquarters of the Dubai Sports Council, and the meeting with the Secretary-General of the Dubai Sports Council Saeed Hareb, in the presence of the Assistant Secretary-General of the Council Nasser Aman Al Rahma, and the Director of Zabeel Club. For women, Shaima Obeid, Chairperson of the Women and Sports Committee in the Dubai Sports Council, Rawda Al-Mahrazi, and Head of the Women’s Sports Department in the Council, Fawzia Faridoun. During the meeting, prospects for cooperation between the Council and the club were discussed to support the women’s sports sector and to spread sports among women.

The Council explained: "During the visit, the Council's efforts to develop the sports sector in the Emirate of Dubai, especially in the field of women's sports, areas of cooperation between the Dubai Sports Council and Zabeel Ladies Club, and the achievements made since the two parties signed a joint cooperation agreement earlier this year, aimed at spreading Practicing and developing women’s sport in line with the status of women in the country, and the importance of sport as a daily lifestyle.”

For his part, Saeed Hareb stressed the importance of joint efforts between the two institutions, given that the Dubai Sports Council is the government entity responsible for the sports sector in the Emirate of Dubai, which seeks to develop the sports movement and create a comprehensive sports environment that responds to the requirements of society, while Zabeel Ladies Club aims to Enhancing women’s practice of sport, building communication channels and strategic partnerships in this field, working on developing a culture of women’s sports, and expanding the base of women and girls’ practices.

At the end of the meeting, the first line of defense shield was presented by the Dubai Sports Council to Sheikha Latifa bint Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, in appreciation of Her Highness' efforts in supporting women's sports, and the initiatives presented by the Zabeel Ladies Club in the field of spreading and developing women's sports in Dubai and the country.
