Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Boxing Federation and Chairman of the Boxing Organizing Committee in the Gulf Cooperation Council, Muhammad Bukhatir, revealed that the Emirati boxing team will participate with the largest delegation during the first Asian Championship for youth, and the second for juniors, which will be hosted by the country in Dubai, from 17 to 31 August.

He told "Emirates Today": "The UAE delegation will consist of 25 male and female boxers who will take part in the great Asian challenge," explaining that "this number confirms the expansion of the base of playing the game in the country by both sexes, and that the national teams apply professional work, and that they have succeeded in limiting The negative effects of the (Corona) pandemic.”

Bukhatir described the fact that Emirati coaches and arbitrators obtained “Star 3” certificates in arbitration and training, as enhancing success, as it led to the practice of boxing according to the highest international standards and specifications, noting that “the efforts that have been made, and the gains that have been achieved in the past four years, are promising. For a distinguished future for Emirati boxing, which confirms the state’s keenness to enhance the status of Emirati sports, especially that the President of the Asian Boxing Confederation, Vice President of the International Federation, Anas Al-Otaiba, from the Emirates, constituted an important addition to the development of Emirati boxing, in addition to developing the administrative and technical work, through the courses that It was hosted or participated in, which means we are on the right track.”

He pointed out that "the UAE's hosting of two continental championships in a few months confirms that the UAE and Dubai are a distinguished place to host various types of events, including sports tournaments, and that hosting the next championship for youth and youth reflects the success of hosting the last Asian Championship for men."

Bukhatir expressed his happiness for the Emirati Hanan Al Zeyoudi's winning of the bronze medal in the Asian Championship recently held in Dubai, explaining that "the boxing team consists of five strong and qualified girls to compete in the near future, while previously it was limited to a smaller number."
