One victory separates Djokovic from the Federer-Nadal equation

World number one Novak Djokovic will be one victory away from equaling the record of Swiss legends Roger Federer and Spaniard Rafael Nadal, who are equal in the number of major titles in the Grand Slam tennis tournaments, when he meets Italian Matteo Berrettini in the Wimbledon final on Sunday.

Djokovic, 34, will be equal in the number of titles with Federer and Nadal (20 each) if he is to win the English Championship for the sixth time in his career, knowing that he is running the seventh final at the All England Club, and thirty in various major tournaments.

Only Federer has played more finals, but he is five years older than Djokovic.

Nadal missed Wimbledon this year, while Federer was eliminated from the quarter-finals.

"It would mean a lot to me," Djokovic said of the possibility of a sixth Wimbledon title. "I'm here for it, and that's why I'm playing the game."

Earlier this year, Djokovic won the Australian Open for the ninth time (a record), before winning the French Roland Garros champion for the second time, overtaking the master of clay courts Nadal in the semi-finals.

"I used to picture myself in a position to fight for a big title before I came to London. Now I'm in a good position to do that. Everything is permissible in the final, and of course experience is on my side," Djokovic added.
