The UAE beach soccer team gets to know its group in the World Cup in Russia

The draw for the FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup, which will be hosted by Russia from August 19-29, with the participation of 16 teams, took place this evening in Zurich.

The draw resulted in our national team falling into Group B along with Mozambique, Spain and Tahiti, while Group A included Russia, USA, Paraguay and Japan, Group C Belarus, El Salvador, Switzerland and Brazil, and Group D Portugal, Oman, Senegal and Uruguay.

Our team will start its campaign against Tahiti on August 19, in the second match it will meet with Mozambique on 21, and play its third match against Spain on 23.

According to the tournament system, the first and second place winners from each of the four groups qualify for the quarter-finals scheduled for August 26, with the semi-final matches to be held on the 28th, while the final match and the match for third and fourth places will be played on the 29th of the same month.

Ali Hamad Al-Badwawi, member of the Board of Directors of the Football Association and Chairman of the Beach Soccer Committee, confirmed that the draw resulted in strong confrontations between the teams participating in the four groups, stressing his great confidence in the Al-Abyad players and their ability to provide a distinguished technical level, and to continue to achieve new sports achievements for the Emirati beach soccer during Next participation in the World Cup.
