The electronic football team will participate in the second edition of the West Asian Championship, which will be held under the umbrella of the International Federation of Football, on July 15-16, with the participation of four national federations: the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and Qatar, which are included in the list of the International Federation of Electronic Games.

The Football Association said in a statement yesterday: "The participation of our team comes within the existing cooperation between the Emirates Football Association and the Emirates Electronic Sports Association, where our team will be represented by four players: Rashid Al Zaabi, Ahmed Al Suwaidi, Omar Al Hammadi, and Ibrahim Al Awadi."

He added: “The results of the draw that was held yesterday, resulted in 12 matches being held on the first day, where the participating teams were placed in one group, and they play the league system in two phases: back on the PlayStation platform, and back on the Xbox platform, and the winning team in each match gets 3 Points, a point for the tied team, zero for the loser, and on the second day, and depending on the final standings after the first stage, the participating teams compete in the second stage competitions, so that the first-placed team plays with the second-placed team, to determine the winner of the tournament, and the third-placed team plays with The team ranked fourth, to determine the third and fourth places.

For his part, Member of the Board of Directors of the Football Association, member of the Executive Committee, Chairman of the Media and Marketing Committee in the West Asian Football Federation, Humaid Al Tayer, said: “The participation of the team in the second edition of the championship comes within the framework of the efforts of the Football Association to enhance the presence of our football team. He praised the fruitful cooperation with the Emirates Electronic Sports Association, especially with regard to qualifying players and refining their talents in the game, which has begun to spread widely, and is receiving attention from the International Football Association.
