Spanish media reported that Atletico Madrid withdrew from negotiations to include Brazilian player Rodrigo Muniz, to open the door for the transfer of the Brazilian player Flamengo to Al-Nassr, during the current transfer period.

Mundo Deportivo newspaper said: "The management of Atletico Madrid refused to enter into an auction to buy Moniz," noting that it "expressed its displeasure, because the Flamengo club's management raised the player's price."

She added, "Atletico Madrid made an offer worth five million euros, but Flamengo raised the financial consideration to eight million euros."

And she continued, "Al-Nassr made an offer worth less than five million euros, but Moniz will receive a large salary, while the Belgian club Genk also expressed its desire to include the player, for five million euros."

She indicated that Atletico Madrid sent an official letter to Flamengo informing the club of its official withdrawal from the negotiations over the inclusion of Moniz, explaining in the letter that he would not enter into an auction to include the player, in addition to the fact that the Brazilian club had changed its terms during the negotiations.

And she concluded: "Flamingo decided to sell Moniz to victory, especially since it is the only offer through which the player will receive a large salary, although Moniz's desire was to play in Europe and join Atletico Madrid."

It is noteworthy that Moniz (20 years) grew up in the ranks of Flamengo, and played last season with the Cortiba team on loan for one season, while he returned last March to Flamengo, and was promoted to the first team, as he participated in 23 games, scored five goals, and assisted a goal one.
