The Tokyo Olympic torch relay was connected by about 180 runners in 16 cities and towns in Ibaraki prefecture over a two-day period, and the torch was scored in Tsukuba on the night of the 5th.

The torch relay in Ibaraki Prefecture was held on the 4th and 5th for two days.



On the final day, the 5th, the first runner started Koga City after 9 am, and the Kinugawa embankment in Joso City, which broke down due to the heavy rains in the Kanto and Tohoku regions six years ago, suffered damage such as houses being washed away. Residents who received it also watched over the Holy Fire Runner.



In addition, as a unique route, a torch relay was also held by boat or bicycle for two people in Kasumigaura and its lakeside in Namegata City.



Then, before 7:30 pm, the Holy Fire entered Tsukuba City, the final section of Ibaraki Prefecture, and Mamoru Mohri, the first Japanese astronaut to board the Space Shuttle, and Soichi Noguchi, an astronaut, ran. ..



And before 8:30 pm, Sawao Kato, who participated in the Olympics three times in gymnastics and won the most eight gold medals in Japan, scored as the last runner at Kenkyu Gakuen Ekimae Park in Ibaraki Prefecture. The schedule is over.



The torch will be handed over to the next Saitama prefecture.
