FIFA reduces the penalty for Egyptian Zamalek

The Egyptian club Zamalek announced that it had received an official notification from the International Football Association (FIFA), stating that the penalty imposed on the club had been reduced from one million and 700 thousand euros to 450 thousand in favor of former Portuguese coach Jaime Pacheco.

And Zamalek explained on its official website, today, Monday, that the FIFA Dispute Resolution Committee recognized Pacheco’s right to receive only 450 thousand euros, to be paid within 45 days, after it was convinced of Zamalek’s justifications.

In the same context, the FIFA Dispute Resolution Committee also acknowledged that Pacheco's assistants had received 80,000 euros, instead of the 320,000 euros they received as a result of the first ruling nearly a month ago.

Amr Adham, a member of the committee in charge of managing Zamalek club, said that Jaime Pacheco, the former coach of the team, asked FIFA for one million and 700 thousand euros in the case he filed against Zamalek club, and his assistants also demanded 320,000 euros, which means that the total indebtedness of Zamalek is estimated at 2 million euros according to their contracts.

He added that the amount was reduced to one million and 500 thousand euros, 75% of the indebtedness.

He added that the amount required now is only 450 thousand euros for Pacheco, including 250 thousand euros in arrears, and 40,000 euros for each coach, or 80,000 euros for both assistants.
