In 1969, I joined Chunichi as a pitcher in 3rd place in the draft.



He immediately turned to a fielder and emerged as a right-handed batter with long hitting power, and won the league title in 1974 and 1957.



And in 1983, he hit 36 ​​home runs and won the title.



Even after transferring to Nippon Ham in 1988, he played as a mainstay, and in 1990 he achieved a total of 2000 hits and retired from active duty at the age of 44.



In 26 years, he played in 2638 games with 2204 hits, 382 home runs and 1234 RBIs.



After retiring, he was the director of Nippon-Ham Fighters for three years from 2000, and also contributed to Japan's victory as a batter coach at the 1st WBC = World Baseball Classic.



Mr. Oshima announced on his blog that he had undergone surgery for colorectal cancer stage 4 four years ago and had metastasized to the liver, and while continuing treatment, he energetically commented on NHK's baseball. I was going.



Last month, he was hospitalized for treatment to remove ascites, which had accumulated in his stomach, and later revealed metastases to the lungs.



Mr. Oshima died of colorectal cancer at a hospital in Tokyo on the 30th of last month.
