The experienced Portuguese coach, Jose Mourinho, received a hero's welcome upon his arrival in Rome to train the Italian capital club yesterday.

Hundreds of Roma supporters gathered around Ciampino airport, where the private plane that carried the Portuguese landed, and they greeted him from behind the barbed wire by raising the club's logo.

Mourinho had announced his imminent departure to the Italian capital, when the club's official website published a brief video, in which he said, "Oh, Roma supporters, I'm about to pack my bags, see you soon."

Alessandro Trombetti, 18, said in a press statement: “We heard that new players will join Roma.

There is no doubt that Mourinho will bring good players, I hope we can compete for the domestic title and qualify for the Champions League.”

According to Italian newspapers, Mourinho will have to undergo a five-day quarantine, which he will spend at the training headquarters of Rome.

Mourinho returns to the Italian League after a wonderful experience with Inter, which led him to win a rare treble (League, Domestic Cup and Champions League) in 2010.
