The Portuguese coach, Jose Mourinho, received the heroes upon his arrival in Rome to train the Italian capital club.
Hundreds of Roma supporters gathered around Ciampino airport, where the private plane carrying the Portuguese coach landed, and they saluted him from behind the barbed wire by hoisting the club's logo.
Mourinho had announced his imminent departure to the Italian capital when the club's official website published a brief video in which he said, "Oh, Roma supporters, I'm about to pack my bags, see you soon."
"We have heard that new players are coming to Roma. There is no doubt that Mourinho will bring good players, I hope we can compete for the domestic title and qualify for the Champions League," Alessandro Trombetti, 18, a Roma supporter, told AFP's video service. Another "Wolves" fan, Valerio Certoni, was similar, saying, "There is no doubt that the atmosphere will change. I think the players will have an extra motivation and I think Mourinho is the right coach for the team." According to the Italian newspapers, Mourinho will have to undergo a quarantine for 5 days, which he will spend at the training headquarters of Rome.
