Despite the success of the club team, playing time during the European Championships has been sparse - only one inning in the 84th minute against the Czech Republic.
Two days before the quarter-final meeting with Ukraine, 21-year-old Sancho has been presented by Manchester United.
Dortmund have also confirmed the transfer.
- We have reached a general agreement with Manchester United regarding Jadon Sancho's transfer, said CEO Hans-Joachim Watzke at a press conference before United went out with the news.
The parties have agreed on a price tag of 85 million euros, corresponding to just under 865 million kronor, according to AFP.
Jadon Sancho was raised in Watford, but moved to Manchester City at the age of 15. Two years later he moved on to Germany and Borussia Dortmund.
