England eliminated their great German rival in the round of 16 of the Euro (2-0) thanks to goals from Raheem Sterling and Harry Kane in the last quarter of an hour.

The British finally succeed in defeating Germany, after decades of frustrations and disappointments.

All England roars with pleasure! The "Three Lions" have finally managed to eliminate their great rival Germany on Tuesday in the round of 16 of the Euro (2-0) in a fantastic atmosphere at Wembley, London. The English got the difference in the last quarter of an hour through Raheem Sterling, who opened the scoring in the 75th minute, before Harry Kane made the break in the 86th. England, who had not beaten their "best enemy" in a knockout match since the 1966 World Cup final, will face in the quarter-finals the winner of the eighth Sweden-Ukraine, which is played in the evening.

For the Germans, on the contrary, it is a new disillusionment after elimination in the first round of the 2018 World Cup. Joachim Löw therefore ends his long adventure at the head of the Mannschaft on a failure and leaves a huge job for his successor, the former Bayern Munich coach Hansi Flick.
