The horse "Falcon de Roche" was crowned the champion of the Al Wathba Stallions Cup, which was held, the day before yesterday, at the British Royal Windsor Racecourse, and the prize amounted to 4,000 pounds, sponsored by the Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan International Racing Festival for Purebred Arabian Horses.

It was a triple celebration at Windsor, where the "Falcon de Roche", under the supervision of coach Nikki Malcolm, achieved his first victory as a rookie, and gave jockey Els Cameron his first victory ever in the races, in addition to the first victory for owner Stride Ahead Racing.

The six-year-old horse outperformed the Seraphim Forta of owner and trainer James Owen, led by Alex Chadwick, in the race in which 11 horses aged four years and above participated on the grass track.

The champion cut the race distance of 2000 meters, in a time of 2:27:95 minutes, while the third "Run the Risk" by Sue Harrod, under the supervision of James Owen, and led by David Roberts.

After the race, jockey Ailes said in a press release: “It's great to get my first win ever, I trained at Ellsworth, but at first I had a hard time getting to the weight required, before I got my amateur licence.

Trainer Malcolm was also happy with her new horse, which she bought from breeders Nikki Thorne, saying in a press release: "We got it in early March, and we avoided two races for which he was eligible, because we felt it needed more time."

The mile and quarter mile (0-65) was the most valuable race in its class held by the Arab Racing Organization (ARO) this season, and the third of five races sponsored by the Al Wathba Stallions Cup, which will be held in the United Kingdom.

• De Roche's victory is the first as a beginner and for his jockey and owner.
