Sarah Sjöström has missed large parts of the season due to a fracture in her elbow.

But now she is back and starting to sharpen her form ahead of the Olympics in Tokyo.

This weekend she competed in Rome and showed upward form with two victories and two second places.

- It was a step forward, especially in freestyle, in butterfly swimming she still has a bit left, says SVT Sports expert Lars Frölander.

The Olympics in Tokyo are approaching and then Sjöström will be in top form to be able to challenge for the medals.

But Frölander thinks she has a long way to go before she is in top form.

- It is difficult to say she has done very few competitions.

But she is a bit in from her best times compared to what we are used to seeing before championships.

She usually makes very good results for big competitions.

So there are some question marks for the shape

What will be the big challenge for Sjöström before the Olympics?

- The challenge is that she competed so little.

I hope she runs more competition-oriented in training now lately before the Olympics.

It can be 75% but she has to get up to speed more.

- It is much tougher in this year's Olympics compared to four years ago so she has to score better. It is important to dot the shape, I think that given the injury she has the best chance to use her explosiveness of 50 meters freely. At 100 meters it can be tougher, says Frölander.
