A shocking reason that qualifies Jordan to the Arab Cup finals without playing
The match between Jordan and South Sudan, which was scheduled for Monday in the qualifiers for the Arab Football Cup finals, was canceled, after a large number of the second people were infected with the Corona virus, and the International Federation (FIFA), the organizer of the competition, considered Jordan a 3-0 winner.
Jordan thus qualified for the finals scheduled for the end of this year in Qatar.
FIFA based its decision on force majeure, "after taking into account the need to protect the health and safety of players and all participants in the tournament."
While FIFA confirmed that no severe symptoms were recorded among those infected with the virus, he indicated that "seven players from the South Sudan national football team were infected with the virus, in addition to five other players, whose results confirmed the possibility of contracting the virus, according to the Ministry of Public Health."
FIFA expressed its regret that South Sudan was not able to play the match, "while confirming that seven other players from the South Sudan national team were in contact with their injured colleagues, the number of players who are currently subject to isolation reaches 19."
Jordan secured a seat in Group C, which includes Morocco and Saudi Arabia, along with the winner of the confrontation between Palestine and Comoros on Thursday.
