Memphis Depay, 27, has long been rumored to be leaving Lyon.

And on Saturday he was presented by FC Barcelona.

The striker has signed a contract that extends to the summer of 2023, the club announces on its website.

This in the middle of an ongoing European Championship - where Depay scored for his Netherlands when the national team took its second victory in the group stage, then against Austria.

The player's contract with Lyon expires this summer.

Coming from a strong season

The 27-year-old scored 20 goals in the Lyon shirt last year and was often the one who carried the team on his shoulders.

Depay broke through at PSV Eindhoven, where he made his debut in 2011, before leaving for Manchester United in 2015. There he spent two seasons and for the past four years he has belonged to the French big club.
