The Tokyo Olympic torch relay held in Iwate Prefecture arrived at the final point, Morioka City, and instead of relaying on public roads, events such as "Torch Kiss" were held, ending the three-day schedule.

In Iwate Prefecture, the torch relay started in Shizukuishi Town on the 16th, and about 290 runners spent three days connecting the torch in 27 local governments in the prefecture.

In Morioka City, the final stage in Iwate Prefecture, the relay was originally planned to be held on the route through the center, but the relay on public roads was canceled due to the spread of the new coronavirus infection.

As an alternative event, a "torch kiss" was held at Morioka Hachimangu Shrine from 7:30 pm on the 18th, where runners took the torch and transferred the torch to the next runner without the general audience.

After the torch kiss, the runners posed their own way to liven up the venue.

The last runners in the prefecture were Juryo wrestler Nishikigi from Morioka City and Reiichi Mikata, a gold medalist of the Albertville Olympic Ski Nordic Combined Group.

Then, on behalf of Nishikigi Seki, the torch lit the torch plate, and the torch relay in Iwate Prefecture, which was connected by 290 runners, finished all the dates.

The torch relay will be held in Miyagi Prefecture from the 19th.
