Federal captain Marco Crespi flagged that it would be a tough - even impossible - task to beat Spain.

And it got tough, Spain won with a crushing 76-55.

It was a much sharper Spain than during yesterday's shock loss against Belarus, where they fell 51-53.

The shooter looked sharper, the defense more resolute and after the first period the Spaniards led 21-9.

In the second period, the home nation continued to dominate completely.

The Swedes?

They scored their first points after almost five (!) Minutes.

At half time, the disadvantage had grown to 17-47 after a weak Swedish offensive.

- It's not just that you shoot badly, the big problem is that you do not come to the right conclusion, says SVT's expert Elisabeth Egnell.

Decisive match against Belarus

Spain certainly showed a brilliant defensive game, and they continued to do so for the last 20 minutes.

The group favorite, who is chasing his third straight European Championship gold, eventually won 76-55.

The best scorer in Sweden was Ellen Nyström with her 11 points.

After the premiere win against Slovakia, Sweden still has the chance to advance from the group.

On Sunday, they meet Belarus in the last group match.

- Belarus is a completely different team in terms of play than Spain.

It is more classic basketball with the twin towers under the baskets, says SVT's expert Elisabeth Egnell.
