Two new cases of coronavirus announced at Euro 2020

Slovakia coach Stefan Tarkovic announced today that his defender, Denis Favreau, and a member of the team participating in the European Cup, have been infected with the Corona virus, on the eve of the match against Sweden in the second round of Group E competitions.

Favreau, 25, who spent the second half of last season with Huesca on loan from Italy's Lazio, missed the first match for his country in the continental finals, which they beat Poland 2-1 on Monday.

Tarkovic said that Favreau was examined yesterday in St. Petersburg, where Slovakia is playing its first two matches in the group, before moving to Seville to face Spain on the 23rd of this month, and that "Dennis does not show any symptoms at all and does not suffer from health problems."

Favreau and the injured person in the team's staff were quarantined, with the possibility of leaving the Slovak camp.

Tarkovic revealed that the team is working with the Russian health authorities and abiding by the rules of the European Union for the game (Wifa) related to combating the outbreak of "Covid-19".

"Then they checked the whole logistics team and the people who take care of us, and they found other positive cases, including our bus driver," Tarkovic said, adding, "It's really hard to avoid the virus."

He expressed his regret, "because the player will not be able to participate in the upcoming matches due to Covid-19."
