Men's head coach Kazuyuki Kyoya said, "We chose players based on winning the world's strongest players in defense. We would like to work on strengthening cooperation and tactics with these 12 people to win the target medal." I was talking.

On the other hand, Mari Amimoto, the ace who scored the most points in the 2008 Beijing tournament, and Ikumi Takubo, the co-captain, were selected as the girls who will participate in the host country for the first time in three tournaments.
