Wales looks to follow up the European Championship success in 2016 with an impressive group advancement in this year's championship.

After the premiere cross against Switzerland, their first victory came after 2-0 against Turkey.

Despite a real Welsh chance in the first half, it took until the 43rd minute before the goal came.

After a clever run, and a brilliant deep lead pass by Gareth Bale, Aaron Ramsey brushed the ball down before placing it 1-0 to the Welsh.

Before that, Ramsey had missed two good positions, where the latter was identical to the goal.

Turkey's Merih Demiral scored an own goal against Italy in the opening match, and the finches start on the bench in tonight's meeting.

But the defensive game, with newly composed midfield pair Kaan Ayhan and Caglar Soyuncu, was still a question mark in the first half against Wales, believes SVT's guest expert Nilla Fischer.

- It can affect some with a new center-back pair, it will of course be a little uncertain to change center-back after a match, says Fischer.

After a short tussle with the defender, Gareth Bale finally tucked the ball home.

Bale put the ball up, Turkish goalkeeper Ugurkan Cakir went in the right direction but he had not had to do so as the Real Madrid star missed grossly.

- It is a really bad punishment… really bad, says SVT's expert commentator Markus Johannesson.

But the miss did not turn out to be fatal for either the 31-year-old or Wales.

In the closing seconds, it came 2-0 through Connor Roberts, played by Gareth Bale.

Thus, Wales has gained a promising starting position before the last group game round, with its four points.

For Turkey, it looks all the darker.

The nation, with two straight losses, is still waiting for its first goal in the European Championships with one match left to play (Switzerland).

At 9 pm, the group colleagues Italy-Switzerland meet, a match that is broadcast on SVT1 / SVT Play.
