The "Kyoka" torch, which is also used at the National Sports Festival held in Mie Prefecture this fall, was held at an elementary school in Toba City.

The "Burning Fire" is the torch of the Olympic Games, and the fires from 29 cities and towns in Mie Prefecture are gathered together to form the "Mie and Kowaka National Athletic Meet" starting on September 25 and from October 23. It will be ignited at the opening ceremony of the "Mie and Kowaka Tournament", a tournament for people with disabilities.

On the 14th, a fire was started on the ground of Kamo Elementary School in Toba City, and 39 students in 5th and 6th grades participated.

The children tried to make a fire by rotating a wooden stick in the hollow of the board.

Then, with the help of the city officials, I managed to set the fire on the two torches used in the national polity and the torch tray.

A fifth grader said, "I was disappointed that I couldn't make a fire by myself, but I'm glad I was able to do it for the National Athletic Meet."

Genki Nakamura of the Toba City Executive Committee of the Mie and Kowaka National Athletic Meet said, "I hope it will lead to a move to increase the momentum of the National Athletic Meet."
