At the end of the tournament, the French Tennis Federation does not intend to leave the doors of the Roland-Garros stadium closed.

Amateur sport, educational visits or cultural arena, the general manager of the French Tennis Federation Amélie Oudéa-Castéra reveals the fate of the site, in the program "La France bouge" on Europe 1.

It is an extraordinary infrastructure spread over twelve hectares, eight times the size of the Stade de France: Roland-Garros. This gigantic place closes its doors after the three weeks (including qualifications) of the eponymous tournament. However, he has not finished seeing the public. The general manager of the French Tennis Federation, Amélie Oudéa-Castéra detailed on Europe 1 all the projects for this emblematic place of international tennis. “Today, this surface is only used three weeks a year and that's a shame,” Amélie Oudéa-Castéra says. With the president of the FFT, Gilles Moretton, she intends to remedy this thanks to the "Stadium for the year" plan. Between culture, sport and business, what will become of the stadium after Roland-Garros?

"The primacy of the athlete"

If she wants to bring the stadium to life outside the Roland-Garros tournament, Amélie Oudéa-Castéra promises it, it will be "always with respect for the primacy of the athlete".

"We are not going to damage our clay," she adds.

The stadium will therefore welcome other tennis players and tenniswomen than the world stars.

The French tennis federation wants to "bring back to the stage of youth competitions: championships in France or fourth, third or even second series", announces Amélie Oudéa-Castéra.

And it won't be just for tennis.

The general manager of the FFT plans to open the doors to other sports by organizing "boxing fights", for example.

A cultural place

The Roland-Garros stadium also has seventeen courts, the main one of which, the Philippe-Chatrier, has a capacity of 15,000 seats and has been fitted with a roof for some time.

An ideal place to organize a concert.

And this will be the case from June 21.

"The Music Festival will take place here", assures Amélie Oudéa-Castéra.

She adds that one of the objectives of the FFT is to "bring this stadium to life on the cultural, artistic and event level".

You don't have to be a great athlete to enter the grounds of Roland Garros.

This stadium is part of French heritage.

The French Tennis Federation is already opening it to the youngest so that they can visit it.

"We organize school groups in partnership with the town hall of Paris," explains Amélie Oudéa-Castéra.

Organization of seminars

Large capacity, emblematic place and guided place, what better way to organize a seminar?

Talking about business at Roland Garros will soon be possible.

As part of the diversification of the stadium's activities, companies will be able to come and organize meetings.

"We are still thinking about formulas," says Amélie Oudéa-Castéra. But for the general manager of the FFT, this project is fully launched, especially since "the construction of an auditorium is being finalized".
