The wait has been long for football lovers in Finland.

This is the first time that the Finnish men's national team has been allowed to play an international championship.

Around 2,000-3,000 Finns are believed to have tickets to the historic match.

- It's unbelieveble.

I've been waiting for this my whole life.

For many years it was something that was impossible, but now we are here.

We have a very good team and the football world will not be the same from now on.

Now it will be a Pukki party, says Anssi Ahvonen and refers to Finland's big star Teemu Pukki.

Will be better than Sweden in football

He also sends a warning to Sweden.

- You have won a hell of a lot of world championships in ice hockey, but you do not do that anymore.

We are better in ice hockey now and now we will take over football as well, says Anssi Ahvonen.

Anssi Ahvonen flew to Copenhagen from his home in Helsinki on Saturday with his brother Panu Ahvonen and father and son Pulkkinen, Juha and Jarmo.

The quartet believes that Finland can surprise in Group B, but it is guaranteed to be an opinion they are fairly alone in the restaurants in Nyhavn, where the Danish supporters have of course dominated completely.

- The sport is always about surprises and that is why we are here.

If sports were statistics, we would not have had to be here, but now it is not so, says Anssi Ahvonen.

For the Nordic derby, 15,900 spectators will be admitted, but since the parliamentary parties this week eased the restrictions, 25,000 spectators will be allowed for the other three European Championship matches in Copenhagen.
