Kenichiro Fumita, who has been appointed as the representative of the Tokyo Olympics in the men's wrestling Greco-Roman style, missed the final international tournament before the performance.

According to the people concerned, Fumita continued to feel unwell, including a slight fever, after vaccination with the new coronavirus vaccine in June.

Fumita, who has been nominated for the Tokyo Olympics in the 60-kilometer class of men's wrestling Greco-Roman style, was scheduled to participate in the international competition to be held in Poland on the 13th as the final actual battle before the Olympics.

However, the Wrestling Federation announced on the 11th that Fumita will stop participating in this tournament due to poor physical condition.

According to the people concerned, Fumita was vaccinated with the new coronavirus vaccine earlier this month, but after that, his physical condition deteriorated due to continued low-grade fever, and he could not make sufficient adjustments for the tournament.

As the international tournament since February last year, Fumita positioned it as a valuable opportunity for actual battles with overseas players, but he missed it in an unexpected way.

The Wrestling Federation explained that the reason for the decision to miss was "the result of careful consideration to prepare for the Olympics."
