Russian Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova has impressed and is ready for the final of the French Open.

The 29-year-old service specialist continued to impress in the semifinals of the championship and beat Tamara Zidansek 7-5, 6-3.

- Thank you all for being here today.

I'm so tired, so happy and it's really emotional, says Pavlyuchenkova in the victory interview.

However, it was all about Zidansek in the beginning.

She opened strongly on the gravel in Paris and took the lead with 2-0 in the first set, before the Russian came back, equalized and left with the numbers 7-5.

In the end, she also solved the victory via victory in two straight sets, the other with 6-3.

Pavlyuchenkova worked low, intense, hard and the serve, which was impressive in the tournament, was the key to victory.

- It was difficult to play the match today.

She (Zidansek, editor's note) tried to fight, and did well.

I checked out the stands and I thank my friends for coming here today.

- The important thing before the final is to continue to be focused.

Final for the first time

Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova has reached the quarterfinals earlier, in 2011.

Now she is in the final for the first time, where she meets the winner between Barbora Krejcikova and Maria Sakkari.

Their semifinal match will be played on Thursday, 17:10.

However, according to many, a new star has been born in 95-ranked Zidansek.
