A week after his departure from Liv Racing, Lars Boom makes the spicy switch to the SD Worx women's team.
The former professional cyclist will start working for the Dutch formation on October 1.
The 35-year-old Boom signs a two-year contract with the WorldTour team of, among others, Anna van der Breggen and Chantal van den Broek-Blaak, who will continue as sports director after this season.
In the winter months, he will also accompany the Hungarian Kata Blanka Vas in cross-country biking and cyclo-cross.
Boom admits in a press statement from SD Worx that he had to think long about the infamous switch.
"I had a good time with my previous team. But when the best women's team in the peloton knocks on your door, it naturally feels like a great and unique opportunity."
Liv Racing terminated the contract with Boom last Wednesday because the team is already busy behind the scenes with the coming seasons and De Brabander could therefore have competition-sensitive information.
Boom was in his first season as a team leader in the women's peloton.
The former Rabobank rider, who won a stage in the Tour de France in 2014, was previously performance manager at Liv Racing.
