In group D, Croatia, vice-world champion in title, will seek to confirm at Euro 2020. In front of it, England wants to surf on its semi-final in Russia.

Scotland, back after 25 years of absence, and the Czech Republic will play the challengers of this group.

Croatia, reigning vice-world champion in 2018, will have to face England when entering Wembley for the first shock of Euro 2020. The "Three Lions" will seek to take their revenge on the Croatian selection, after the semi-final lost at the Russian World Cup (2-1 after).

The Czech Republic, also present in this group D, finished second in their qualifiers, behind the English.

The Czechs will try to reach the round of 16 by dominating Scotland, back after 25 years of absence in the European Championship and 23 years after their last international meeting (1998 World Cup).

Group D:

Croatia

Czech Republic

England

Scotland

The favorites: Croatia and England

It is the revenge of the semi-final of the 2018 World Cup. Croatia had won over England's nose and beard in extra time (2-1 ap). But the Croats approach this Euro 2020 in doubt, after a difficult campaign in the League of Nations (one victory, five defeats). Luka Modric's partners, Ballon d'Or 2018, however finished first in their qualifying group. Just like England, which has rejuvenated its selection. The young nuggets of midfielder Phil Foden (21) and Mason Mount (22) will impose their keen sense of the beautiful game to serve their striker captain Harry Kane, very regular in the selection. The English will have the advantage of playing at home, in London during the group stage, and aim for the last four of the competition, also scheduled at home.

The return: Scotland

Scotland have not played major competitions since the 1998 World Cup in France.

Victorious in the Euro 2020 play-offs, the Scottish selection returns to a tournament that it has played only twice in its history, in 1992 and 1996, without ever having gone beyond the first round.

It has several Premier League players in its ranks, including Liverpool defender Andy Robertson and Manchester United midfielder Scott McTominay.

The Scottish selection will challenge the serious Czech Republic and Croatia at home in Glasgow, before facing its English rival in London.

Leaving this group D would therefore be a big achievement for Scotland.

Players to watch: Luka Modric (Croatia) and Phil Foden (England)

The first will play in one of his last international competitions, the second his very first.

The Croatian Luka Modric (35), Real Madrid playmaker and Ballon d'Or in 2018, will always have the keys to animation in the midfield.

In front of him, the young British nugget Phil Foden (21), revelation of the year in the midfielder of Manchester City.

His passion and precision in front of goal make him a player to watch closely for the Croats.
