A staff member of the Tajikistan national team, who is visiting Japan for the second qualifying round for soccer and the World Cup Asia, received a positive test for the new coronavirus.

According to the Japan Football Association, the Tajikistan national team will decide how to carry out future activities based on the specific results of close contacts.

Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, Myanmar, and Mongolia's national teams entered the country from overseas in the second Asian qualifying round of the World Cup Qatar soccer tournament, which is being held intensively in Japan.



According to the Japan Football Association, one Tajikistan staff member was tested positive for the new coronavirus test on the 9th.



The staff was already quarantined and all other athletes and staff were negative on the 9th test.



Tajikistan players and staff will come to Japan on the 3rd of this month and will play against Japan on the 7th, and will play against Myanmar and Osaka on the 15th of this month.
