The health pass seems to be working.

It is now necessary to enter Roland Garros, which has doubled its audience rating.

On the first day, 13,000 spectators were able to come and enjoy the quarter-final matches.

Several ministers also came to set an example.

New stage of deconfinement also means new rules.

Since Wednesday, the gauges for sporting events have been raised but it is now necessary to show a white footing to be able to participate in certain gatherings, those of more than 1,000 people, thanks to the health pass.

Roland-Garros is the first major event to experience the process and the result seems convincing, as Europe 1 has seen.

Vaccination or PCR test

Despite this formality, spectators enter the stadium without difficulty.

Everything is quite fluid.

Additional staff have been mobilized specifically to guide the public through the queues.

One of the first to go through the gates this Wednesday morning to show his health pass was Olivier Véran, the Minister of Health.

"It was very simple," he says with satisfaction.

The minister takes the opportunity to do pedagogy.

"First, there are staff who are trained. They have a digital device that can read a flashcode."

On the latter, "there is my name, my first name, my date of birth and there is marked, validated in green", he explains.

"People don't have to know if it's validated because I was vaccinated or if it was because I tested negative. All they need to know is that it is validated so that I can return ", recalls Olivier Véran.

"So a priori, no one is contaminated within the Roland-Garros enclosure."

After the Minister of Health, Jean-Michel Blanquer, Minister of National Education, and Roxana Maracineanu, Minister of Sports, tested the health pass for the first time.

The spectators reassured

If ever a spectator does not have the correct documents, he is then directed to a nearby laboratory to perform an antigen test.

This is what happened to one of the spectators met by Europe 1. "It adds a bit of stress because I had to repeat the test in front of the entrance. All the more so since it is not comfortable to do, so it's a bit restrictive. But hey, we have no choice, it's mandatory ", relativizes the young man.

The spectators seem in any case reassured by this health pass. And above all delighted that they allow 13,000 people to be present in the stadium, the double of these last days. The atmosphere is therefore very festive in the stands. Enough to give voice to the matches taking place in front of their eyes.
