The Netherlands are back!

After two notable absences in international competition (Euro 2016, World Cup 2018), the "Oranje" have qualified for Euro 2020 and will play the group stage in their Amsterdam stadium.

In front of them, Austria of new Real Madrid player David Alaba and Ukraine led by iconic coach Andrei Shevchenko are strong challengers.

North Macedonia is invited for the first time in a European championship.

Group C:

Austria

Netherlands

North Macedonia

Ukraine

The ghost: the Netherlands

Second in its qualifiers for Euro 2020 behind Germany, the selection of former Lyon number 10 Memphis Depay is looking to redeem itself after two absences in international competition.

The "Oranje" will want to make up for lost time in front of their supporters, with three home matches in Amsterdam in the group stage.

They can count on a quality squad, including Juventus defender Matthijs de Ligt and FC Barcelona midfielder Frenkie de Jong, who will both play their first European Championship.

The new one: North Macedonia

It is the little thumb of Euro 2020. North Macedonia, two million inhabitants, will play its very first European and international competition.

A consecration for the Genoa striker Goran Pandev, winner of the Champions League with Inter Milan in 2010 and pillar of the Macedonian selection, at 37 years old and 119 caps.

This little-known team nevertheless stood out at the end of March 2021, after a victory against Germany in the qualifiers for the next World Cup in Qatar (2-1).

However, it will have to achieve exploits against Austria and Ukraine, two nations which will seek to leave this group C.

Player to watch: Memphis Depay (Netherlands)

Dutch striker Memphis Depay will leave Olympique Lyonnais this summer with a disappointment: not having been able to qualify his team for the next Champions League.

No doubt he will be keen to bounce back in the selection, where the attacker also wears the number 10. His shooting quality, his movements, his sense of the game make him the trigger for the "Oranje".

Our predictions:

Netherlands 1st, Austria 2nd, Ukraine 3rd, North Macedonia 4th
