Qatari Nasser Al-Khelaifi, president of Paris Saint-Germain, responded to speculation about the future of Kylian Mbappe, saying that the French striker will remain at his club during the next season.

Mbappe, who scored 42 goals in all competitions with Saint-Germain this season, extends until June 2022, but he was linked to a move to Real Madrid.

Al-Khelaifi told the French newspaper L'Équipe, "I will be clear, Mbappe will stay in Paris and we will never sell him, and he will never leave us for free. Mbappe has everything he needs in Paris."

"Where can he go? Which club can compete with PSG today in terms of ambition? All I can say is that things are fine, and I hope to reach an agreement (to renew the contract)."

He continued, "This is Paris, this is his country, and he has a mission not only related to football, but to promoting the French League, his country and its capital."

Saint-Germain finished the season with one big title, the French Cup, after losing the league to Lille by one point, and also exiting the semi-finals of the Champions League.
