I played really well today, so I'm happy with that, Gauff said in the victory interview on the court after the match.
In the quarterfinals, Gauff, who is the youngest Grand Slam quarterfinalist since Nicole Vaidisova in the French Open in 2006, will face 25-year-old Czech Barbora Krejcikova. Krejcikova impressed in her round of 16 when she defeated 2018 finalist Sloane Stephens 6-2, 6-0.
