• Cori Gauff's service puts an end to Ons Jabeur's dream

Tunisian Ons Jabeur will still have to wait to win this first Grand Slam tournament she dreams of.

For her first scheduled match on center court, the player was challenged by American Cori Gauff, losing in 53 minutes.

The young American got off to a particularly good start in her match.

She won her serve from the start, then made the break before confirming it, taking advantage of Ons Jabeur's many faults.

The Tunisian gives hope for a start by winning her service after saving two break points but she fails to return to the score (6-3).

The second set starts off in an equally complicated fashion.

"Coco" Gauff makes the entry break then confirms.

Ons Jabeur seemed to be on a par with her powerful competitor for a while, but the American took a second serve by sending a volley on the line.

The break too much, the Tunisian does not recover (6-1).

As in 2020, Ons Jabeur leaves the tournament in the round of 16, after having once again shown all his qualities.

"Coco" Gauff, meanwhile, joined the quarter-finals, at only 17 years old.
