The Ethics Committee of the Brazilian Football Confederation announced, yesterday, the temporary suspension of federation president Rogerio Capoclo, after he faced accusations of sexual abuse.


Kabuclo was initially suspended for 30 days, after an employee in the union accused him of sexual and moral abuse of her, knowing that he denied all the accusations against him.


"The Federation received on Sunday the decision of the Ethics Committee to temporarily suspend (for an initial period of 30 days) President Rogerio Capoclo from the performance of his duties," the federation said in a statement.


In accordance with federation regulations, which provide for the assignment of the task to the oldest vice-president, Antonio Carlos Núñez will assume the duties of federation president during Capoclo's suspension.


The suspension of Capoclo from work comes at a time when the Brazilian Federation is witnessing a state of tension.
