Saudi Arabia announces the continuation of hosting the Spanish and Italian Super Cups

 Saudi Sports Minister Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki Al-Faisal announced that Saudi Arabia will continue to host the Spanish and Italian Super Cups, the Super Globe Handball Championship, the 3×3 Basketball World Tour, the 2022 Formula E race and the 2022 Dakar Rally.

Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki Al-Faisal said during the government communication conference, today, Sunday, that 9 clubs in Saudi Arabia will be developed to host matches, as part of the club facilities development initiative, and the headquarters of 3 clubs will be converted into stadiums by 2022.

Abdulaziz bin Turki Al-Faisal announced that the Saudi Ministry of Sports will soon announce the launch of a project for licensing sports clubs and academies, and updating the licenses for sports halls and centers.

The Minister of Sports indicated that the ministry’s regulations are clear regarding the clubs’ debts, and stressed that the culprit must bear his responsibilities, and he also clarified that the clubs’ focus on football caused the loss of talents in other sports.

Regarding the club privatization project, Al-Faisal said, "It is one of the national privatization programs, which is concerned with privatizing government sectors, and that work is underway with the concerned authorities, and it will be announced within months."

The Minister of Sports announced that the Al-Shabab, Al-Fateh and Al-Ittifaq clubs will convert their stadiums into sports stadiums, and their implementation will start during the next few period, until it ends in mid-2022.

He pointed out that there is approval to establish private companies for sports investment for 13 sports clubs and federations to ensure financial sustainability.

He was also informed of the launch of the scholarship program to train and qualify 42 Saudi players between the ages of 18 to 20 years, through a permanent camp in Spain.
