Official confirmation wouldn't be until July, but the deal has been found, according to globoesporte.com.

Flamengo Gerson's Brazilian midfielder has signed a five-year contract with OM according to this leading sports news site in Brazil.

The contract was signed Friday in Serbia, where the 24-year-old footballer faces Cape Verde on Saturday, in a friendly match between the hopes of the Brazilian selection.

In Marseille at the beginning of July

Several French media also present the transfer as almost complete, after tough negotiations lasting more than three weeks.

OM should finally pay 25 million euros to Flamengo, Gerson's current club, with whom he will still play matches in the Brazilian league and the Copa Libertadores before flying to France, "during the first fortnight of July, ”specifies globoesporte.com.

The transfer will then be officially announced, at the end of the medical examination.

Revealed at Fluminense, Flamengo's rival club in Rio de Janeiro, Gerson left for Europe very early, at the age of 18, in 2015, to play for Roma, who had recruited him for 16 million euros.

He never won in Italy and ended up returning to his homeland in 2019, after an unconvincing stint on loan at Fiorentina.
