The Tokyo Olympic Torch Relay, which began on the 4th in Niigata Prefecture, ended the two-day schedule with the final event "Celebration" on the night of the 5th.

The torch relay was held in the prefecture for two days on the 4th and 5th, and ran on public roads in all sections, and about 170 runners connected the torch in 14 municipalities from Itoigawa City to Murakami City.



On the morning of the 5th, the departure ceremony was held in Nagaoka City, the starting point, and the second day started with Mai Nakamura, a silver medalist for swimming at the Sydney Olympics, from Nagaoka City.



The torch passed through Sanjo City and Tsubame City, and in Yahiko Village, it traveled in the air by ropeway and was carried to the summit of Mt. Yahiko, which overlooks the Sea of ​​Japan.



Then, in Niigata City, cross the city's symbol "Bandai Bridge", run around the downtown area of ​​Furumachi, and finally at the Niigata City Athletics Stadium, a singer from Niigata City, Sachiko Kobayashi, smiles at about 1,100 people gathered in the audience. I ran the track while waving my hand.



After that, I was connected to Aga Town, Shibata City, and arrived at the goal of Iwafuneminato Port Green Space in Murakami City around 7:30 pm.



At the venue, a "celebration" was held to celebrate the arrival of the torch, and the final runner lit the torch on the torch plate, and the torch relay in Niigata Prefecture finished all the dates.



The torch relay will move to Yamagata Prefecture from the 6th.
