It was still without a crowd when STCC started its season on the new track Ljungbyhed.

13 cars came to the start and in the absence of champion Rob Huff, double STCC champion Robert Dahlgren was able to take a grip on the championship from the start.

Already in the qualifiers on Friday, he showed that the team did its homework and landed the fastest time in both qualifiers 1 and 2. This gave Dahlgren pole position in the first two races, an advantage he was not late to take advantage of.

He led from start to finish in both races and was able to win unthreatened.

Behind Dahlgren, stablemate Mikael Åhlin-Kottulinsky showed that she also wants to be involved and fight in the lead.

A cheeky overtaking in the first corner in the first race gave her a second place ahead of Oliver Söderström and Tobias Brink.

Söderström and Brink drove each other a couple of laps before the finish, but after a protest and jury decision, Söderström was released from responsibility and was able to pinch third place.

Save second place

In the second race, Brink managed to keep the oncoming challengers behind him and was able to salvage the second place behind Dahlgren.

In the third race, the field started in reverse starting order.

Mattias Andersson made a great start and was able to take the lead from the third box.

Dahlgren in the eighth box did not get the car started for the formation lap and had to start last of all cars.

But he came again and after others' departures and Dahlgren's skill, he ended up third.

- We had a fantastic weekend.

Awesome with a new course.

Hysterical third race.

I feel incredibly happy.

What a job the team has done, he says.

Both Mikaela Åhlin-Kottulinsky and Tobias Brink had problems in the last race.

Brink had to go to the depot and ended up seventh and Åhlin – Kottulinsky was hit on the twelfth lap by Andreas Ahlberg and had to break.

- Strong weekend, but sad to end as we did, says Åhlin-Kottulinsky.

Puncture at the start

For Hannes Morin, the series could have started better.

In the first race he got technical problems already on the first lap.

And in the second, he left too early.

The jump start gave him 20 penalty seconds.

At the start of the third, he drove into Robin Knutsson who did not get away.

Puncture for Morin and that day was completely ruined.

The next competition weekend will be decided at Robert Dahlgren's home arena Skellefteå Drive Center in two weeks.
