Last year, Warholm ran 33.78 at the "Impossible Games" at Bislett in Oslo and later in the season recorded 46.87 in the 400 meter hurdles, the second best time in history after Kevin Young's world record of 46.78 from the 1992 Barcelona Olympics.

- I am very happy, it is half a second better than last year.

I can say as my coach Leif Olav "Well done is better than well said", says Warholm according to NRK.

Coach Leif Olav Alnes is an extremely important person in Warholm's life.

- I'm extremely happy.

It was a huge race.

That is 75 percent of the distance and an indication that it will go quite well, says the coach.

"Has improved the last 100 meters"

Alnes says that Warholm has become both faster and more enduring and adds a task that makes the world record sound doomed:

- I think he has improved the last hundred meters, says Alnes.

Warholm will make his season debut in Oslo's Diamond League competition on July 1 and then run the distance in Stockholm on July 4 (where he set his European record last year) or in Monaco.

It will be the only competitions before the Olympics in Tokyo in early August.

When Warholm cut the finish line, the clock was at 0.0 and the team around Warholm thought that the organizer had squandered time.

The women's 400 m hurdles, which was decided before, for example, did not receive an official result list.

- It was a bit hard but I expected them to sort it out, says Warholm.

The time of 33.26 is the fastest recorded on the odd distance of 300 meters.

However, there is no official top list on the World Athletics website.
