The home team really needed a victory, because Colorado had won the first two quarterfinals played in the best of seven.

And at the beginning of the second period, William Karlsson showed how it should go: In the crowd in front of goal, he grabbed the puck with his skate and whipped in a backhand tub.

The joy was short-lived, however, because Carl Söderberg equalized for Colorado shortly afterwards.

At the beginning of the third period, Colorado then took the lead after a goal signed by Mikko Rantanen, assisted by Gabriel Landeskog, and it looked shaky for Vegas.

However, the home team could decide with two goals within a minute.

First, Jonathan Marchessault delivered a special when he was behind Colorado's goal and hit the puck so lucky that it bounced on Philipp Grubauer in the Colorado box and into goal.

Then Max Pacioretty steered a well-aimed shot from the blue line to 3-2 for Vegas, which was also the end result.

- Of course it feels terribly nice, it would have been tough if we lost again, says William Karlsson.

Colorado now leads the quarterfinals 2-1.
