A police source told Reuters today, Friday, that the Russian tennis player, Yana Sizikova, was arrested at the French Open and placed under guard.

The source did not reveal the reasons for the arrest.

And the French news agency, quoting a police source, reported that the arrest came on suspicion of betting and match-fixing.

The French Tennis Federation confirmed the player's arrest and said it could not comment further.

Shamil Tarpishev, president of the Russian Tennis Federation, told the Russian Information Agency (RIA) that he had been informed of Szykhova's position.

On the other hand, TASS news agency also indicated that the Russian embassy in Paris was informed of the situation.
