He promised that the World Cup would provide visitors with the best experience in their lives, and pledged that it would be a big celebration after a long period of closure due to the repercussions of the Corona pandemic.

The Qatari minister stressed that Doha seeks to organize an impressive World Cup thanks to its strong infrastructure that matches a tournament the size of the World Cup.

Pointing out that Doha is also ready to host the Olympics, he said, "Currently, we are in talks with the International Olympic Committee about the file and the nomination. We have made significant investments in the infrastructure of the World Cup, and it will remain as a legacy for the country. If these Olympic Games are held, the focus will be on the economic, social and environmental impacts.

The Supreme Committee participated in the Saint Petersburg International Economic Forum, which this year attracted experts and researchers in the fields of economy, development, sports and others, where it briefed the world on the latest developments in the hosting and legacy programs of the tournament.

For his part, Qatar Airways Group CEO Akbar Al Baker said that the company - which is the official carrier of the 2022 World Cup - is working to implement all precautionary measures to make the tournament a success on its part, despite the Corona pandemic.

Al Baker explained that the period remaining until the start of the World Cup at the end of next year, will provide an opportunity to test the accuracy of the preparations.

On the other hand, a delegation from the Supreme Committee for Delivery and Legacy participated in the St. Petersburg Forum, which concludes on Saturday, with the aim of introducing the latest information on stadiums and infrastructure projects for the 2022 FIFA World Cup hosted by Qatar.
