The General Sports Authority, in cooperation with the National Olympic Committee, announced the launch of the "Guide to Governance of Sports Federations", which is expected to constitute a qualitative leap in the development of the local sports sector, by establishing a new and unified approach to institutional models for sports federations in accordance with frameworks that support the development of various sports, and contribute to Creating an environment and a sporting community that achieves regional and global achievements, while giving federations three months to implement all its provisions. This came in the press conference held yesterday at the headquarters of the Authority in Dubai, and attended by the Secretary General of the Authority Saeed Abdul Ghaffar, and the Secretary General of the Olympic Committee, Muhammad bin Sulayem, during which the most prominent components of the guide consisting of seven chapters and 87 articles were reviewed, and its features reflect the keenness of the Authority and the Olympic Committee , On building an organizational environment that enables sports federations to achieve distinguished results at the regional and global levels, in addition to developing the sports sector and its facilities, and empowering national sports leaders.

The guide includes many general principles that constitute an organizational framework for the establishment of any sports federation at the state level, including the formation of its board of directors, its objectives, specializations, and responsibilities, in addition to its obligations, components, selection mechanisms for its members, its permanent and temporary committees, its administrative and technical bodies, its financial systems and governance frameworks in it. .

Said Abdul Ghaffar said: “The guide constitutes forward-looking visions that ensure the achievement of qualitative leaps in the performance of various sports sectors, to be more capable of building a generation of athletes who are able to whiskly raise the flag of the country in all regional and international championships and competitions, as it is the first of its kind in the region. The federation has the competence to settle various sports disputes between its members in accordance with the provisions of the statute and the laws in force, and to implement all judgments and decisions issued by the Emirates Center for Sports Arbitration or issued by the International Sports Court in the event of the presence of foreign parties in the disputes.
