Regarding the Tokyo Olympics holy fire relay scheduled in Aomori Prefecture on June 10th and 11th, Governor Mimura of Aomori Prefecture, based on the infection situation of the new coronavirus, etc., all sections of the first day and the second day It has been announced that the relay on public roads in Mutsu City will be cancelled.

At the Tokyo Olympic Torch Relay, about 180 runners were scheduled to run in 14 cities, towns and villages on the 10th and 11th of next month in Aomori Prefecture.

However, Governor Mimura said today that all of the first day was due to the spread of the new coronavirus infection, especially in the Tsugaru region, and the voices from local governments calling for the cancellation of relays on public roads. It was revealed that the relay on the public road in Mutsu City on the second day will be canceled.

Governor Mimura said, "I am very sorry to those who were looking forward to driving on public roads and many people involved."

On the first day, as an alternative to canceling the relay, an event will be held at the venue at the goal point in Aomori City.

On the other hand, on the second day, in five cities and towns such as Hachinohe City other than Mutsu City, relays and events on public roads will be held as planned based on the fact that local governments affected by the Great East Japan Earthquake are included and the infection situation. I'm planning to do it.

However, if the infection situation worsens, it will be decided whether to finally carry out the relay on public roads one week before the relay takes place.
