The 32-year-old Spaniard said in September, just before last year's tournament, that she had suffered from the first stages of Hodgkin's lymphoma, which required six months of chemotherapy.

- It is extremely exciting to be able to participate in Roland Garros.

"I have been training for the last few months to give myself the opportunity to compete one last time in Paris," she told the Spanish Tennis Federation.

Thought to quit last year

Navarro is ranked 118th in the world started training in December and declared in April that she was finished and healthy.

She planned to end her career last year but will continue for another year after the pandemic destroyed large parts of 2020.
