A certain staff turnover is common in professional football.

But what happened at Frankfurt Eintracht goes beyond anything known in the Bundesliga.

Not only sports director Fredi Bobic, sports director Bruno Hübner and trainer Adi Hütter have left the traditional Hessian club.

A large part of the second management level in the professional squad turned their backs on Eintracht.

    Many follow Bobic

The names of the co-trainers Armin Reutershahn and Christian Peintinger, who accompany Hütter to Gladbach, are still familiar to the fans. The names Sebastian Zelichowski, Thomas Westphal, Matthias Borst and Gabor Ruhr hardly. Of these, Sebastian Zelichowski has worked for Eintracht the longest - since 2016. He started as an employee in match and opponent analysis, moved up to the head of this department, headed the sports technology division and then rose to Fredi Bobic's right hand, with the Title advisor to the sports board.

Eintracht also sent him to the first DFB course, at the end of which the participant can call himself a certified football manager.

Zelichowski follows Bobic to Hertha BSC, as does team manager Thomas Westphal, who has been with Eintracht since September 2017, as well as the head of game conception Matthias Borst and the game analyst Gabor Ruhr.

Krösche has hired an old friend from Paderborn for Zelichowski.

Olaf Siegel, then team manager, retired from football in 2020 after becoming a father for the second time and switched to business.

Krösche was able to convince the old comrade to support him in the unity.

Hardung, who will replace Westphal as head of licensed players and will be responsible for the organizational aspects of the professional team, also values Krösche from his own experience.

The two already worked together harmoniously and trustingly at RB Leipzig.

    Not all positions occupied

However, this does not mean that all personal details have been clarified.

There is still a lack of game analysts and a specialist for the game conception across all Eintracht teams.

It was also up to the discussion to transfer the tasks of sporting director Hübner not only to Ben Manga, who had risen from squad planner to director of professional football, but to another manager who should be very close to the team.

After the name of the former player Gelson Fernandes was mentioned as a candidate early on, it has become very quiet lately about the occupation of this post. When he officially takes office on June 1st, Krösche will announce whether he will still fill this position as planned.
