The football season is ending across European leagues, which means the summer transfer window is upon us. With the champions already names in all major leagues, and most other dilemmas resolved, the transfer speculations have already well underway.

Today, we take a look at some of the biggest transfers that may happen in the summer 2021, and how likely they are to actually happen. While there is no telling which of these transfers will actually go down, they will certainly be fun to track during the off-season, as we watch the EURO, enjoy some free slot games in the background, and sip on a beer or two with our friends.

1.      Lionel Messi to Leave Barcelona

A departure that was already much discussed last summer, Lionel Messi leaving Barcelona would be of monumental significance for the sport of football altogether. The Argentinian magician has been with his childhood club his whole life, and has never hinted at leaving before last season.

Messi openly spoke about his unhappiness with the way the club was managed and the lack of a good sporting project. With Laporta coming back to the club, this has all changed, but Barca’s catastrophic end of season which saw them drop the La Liga title may be the last straw for Messi.

The weeks to come will probably give us more insights into Messi’s state of mind, but the fact is that he will soon be a free agent and all the richest clubs in the world are looking to sign him. Will Messi go after the titles elsewhere, or is he keen to stay and help Barcelona rebuild and prosper once more?

2.      Erling Haaland to Leave Borussia Dortmund

The Norwegian wunderkind has been capturing all the headlines for a while now, taking spotlight away from even the likes of Ronaldo and Messi. With his incredible goal-scoring tally this season, and the impressive presence he has on the pitch, it is no wonder that the biggest clubs in the world such as Real Madrid, Chelsea, and Barcelona, are all interested in Haaland.

If he does make a move away from Dortmund, Haaland may easily break the all-time transfer record, currently held by Brazilian superstar Neymar with his €222 Million transfer to PSG in 2017. Erling Haaland is young, motivated, and an absolute beast on the football field. Wherever he lands, the Norwegian is destined to make history!

3.      Cristiano Ronaldo to Leave Juventus

It is not every season that transfers of all the biggest stars in the football world are possible, but like Messi, Ronaldo may just change his jersey this summer. Juventus have had a dismal season with the Portuguese superstar at the top of the scorer’s list, but the team not quite living up to their expectations.

Not only have Juventus not been able to win the Seria A or have a significant run in the Champions League, but many of the fans and players at the club are not happy with Ronaldo’s attitude. Some of the candidates for Ronaldo’s signature include former clubs Manchester United and Real Madrid, both of which would likely be happy to see the Portuguese back in their rosters.

4.      Kylian Mbappe to leave PSG

Like Haaland, Kylian Mbappe is one of the young generation of players who are looking to make a career for the history books. However, Mbappe has been struggling to win major trophies with PSG, namely the Champions League. What’s more, the French Ligue 1 is not considered to be one of the most competitive, all the more reason for the Frenchmen to look for glory abroad.

A great number of clubs have been approaching Mbappe for years now, always to be shut down by either the player or the club. This time, Real Madrid may actually do more and make a significant offer that PSG won’t be able to refuse, and Kylian may want to take in order to compete for European silverware and a La Liga title next season.
